Okay, now what?
You do the work of showing up! You bother us with your brilliance, and maybe you don’t get the standing ovation you were hoping for.
Maybe you're rejected. Maybe you’re ignored. Maybe people love it, but not enough people.
The reality is we can’t predict how people will respond to our art, our brilliance, our heart.
The invitation to Bother Us With Your Brilliance is about you showing up for you. For the things that matter to you.
How do you keep showing up for the things that are important to you? Tell us about it in the comments.
I’ve often found that when I’m struggling to show up for myself, it's way easier when I have to show up for someone else. So co-working on Zoom and co-creative dates with my wife help me show up for my art.
If you’re a writer and could use a standing date with your WIP:
I connected recently with fellow newsletter writer Kara Westerman (she/her) who’s created Writer’s Daily Dive, a fellowship of writers dismantling perfectionism one hour at a time. They meet Monday-Friday at 1:00 EST on Zoom. Right now, Kara offers a 7 day free trial, so you can try it out and see if it’s for you. Here’s the deets to dive in (see what I did there 😉). Or if you’d like to see more about what it is first, scroll down here until you see the heading The Writer’s Daily Dive.
And what’s next for The Creative Courage Project?
The Creative Courage Project is for when you can’t keep quieting your impractical, “I could never do that…(could I?)” desires.
I often say it’s for creative humans who want to make and share their creative work in the world while navigating the pressure to always be palatable, productive, profitable.
Bother Us With Your Brilliance has been about creating with an outer purpose. But now I'm feeling the pull to hone in on creating without being palatable, productive, or profitable. More coming soon!
Until then,
Ryn

Thank you so much, Ryn!
